At the Yorkshire Policy Collaboration, our mission is to drive impactful, research-informed policy initiatives and strengthen partnerships between our member institutions. We work to foster collaboration at local, regional, and national levels, creating innovative solutions to address societal challenges and support evidence-based policymaking.

Who We Are

The Yorkshire Policy Collaboration (YPC) is a partnership of four leading Yorkshire universities, bringing together the region’s diverse social science expertise to address pressing societal challenges. Funded by the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account, our focus on social sciences enables us to connect academic research with real-world policy needs, fostering transdisciplinary collaboration across Yorkshire.

The YPC is committed to building stronger links between researchers and policymakers. We take a needs-led approach to develop the skills and capacity required for impactful research-to-policy work. Through training, mentoring, peer learning, and network development, we support academics and policymakers at all career stages to engage effectively and co-create innovative solutions for the challenges facing our communities.

By championing the value of social science, YPC serves as a bridge between knowledge and action, creating opportunities for collaboration and making a difference across the region.
